    Duties involve compatibility, black/gray box, stress and validation testing of the Toshiba PC based notebooks Recovery Application and Pre-Installation software bundles. These pre-configured bundles contain the operating system, applications, drivers and utilities the customer will receive with their new Toshiba notebook. Testing involves hardware and software installations, benchmark and stress related network or stand-alone tests on a variety of peripherals using various interfaces and troubleshooting to determine issues. 
      

  • Quality Assurance Engineer
    Phoenix Technologies, Irvine, California
    May 1996 to April 2001

    Projects were based on the testing of CORE and OEM based PC BIOS, developed by Phoenix Technologies. Test Procedures created and followed to determine failures of either firmware implementation or BIOS. Responsibilities included modification/update of Test Procedures, writing Test Plans, determine testing by requirements documents and modify checklists accordingly, reporting issues to development or deployment engineers in a clear and concise manner. Creation of automated test scripts developed in ANSI C on the Validor Pro automation test tool developed by TestQuest. Trained on Azor Ferret automation system. Data input/output code level creation/validation. Involved in the designing of database driven testing. White, black and gray box testing, unit and integration testing of scripts and CORE and OEM PC BIOS MASM components. Use of PVCS version control software for validation of MASM components and ANSI C automation scripts. Involved at all levels of test bed hardware and software: design, rework and maintenance.
     

  • Test Engineer
    Corollary, Irvine, California
    January 1996 to May 1996

    Duties involved compatibility of various cards within the proprietary C-Bus and C-Bus II architecture. Testing involved hardware and software installations, benchmark and stress related network or stand-alone tests on a wide variety of peripherals and cards using various bus interfaces and troubleshooting to determine issues. Maintained generic PC workstations and Corollary servers used for network benchmark testing under Unix and NT.
     

  • Test Engineer

    January 1995 to January 1996
    Projects included the compatibility testing of PCI based SCSI and Ultra SCSI cards on both Intel and PowerPC platforms. Software and hardware from a variety of manufacturers is installed in multiple brands of PC’s with the Western Digital PCI SCSI card. Benchmarks, diagnostics and stress related tests in a network or stand-alone configuration were run to determine failures. Assisted with lab server maintenance, running Novell NetWare.

    July 1990 to May 1994

    Direct end-user technical support to customers and dealers of AST Computer, systems, portables, peripherals, peripheral/emulation cards and laser printers. Programming in C, covered ANSI C with all of the primary fundamentals of programming within the language. Fundamentals of Software Design Engineering covered designing and quality assessment of software products. Assembly in x86 Architecture covered MASM with all of the primary fundamentals of programming within the language.
